Assistant Design Manager | Interiors

OPPORTUNITY

The Assistant Interior Design Manager reports to the President of SLR Creative and is responsible for supporting the Interior Design Manager with the interior design of each SLR Project.  The Assistant Interior Design Manager will work closely with the SLR Creative team, Development team and Construction team, as well as all project design consultants, to craft an overall interior experience that meets SLR design standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist each project’s interior design manager with project coordination, budgets and schedules, as well as design presentations and FF&E installations. 
• Assist with the coordination, purchasing and installation of FF&E items for each project.
• Works with the Interior Design Manager in drawing review and of the production of construction documentation by design consultants. Aides in ensuring intended scope of work, code requirements, budget, schedule and SLR design standards are being met.
• Assists the Design Manager in selecting and documenting interior finishes for unit interiors within the project’s budget and design concept.
• Responsible for material library organization and updates
• Construction Administration:
  • Works with interior design manager to provide/produce project information required by the Construction Project Managers, including submittals and RFI’s.
  • Assist with site visits to confirm design standards are being met and coordinated.
  • Walk apartment units for construction completion, travel may be required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Education: 4-year college degree within the Interior Design and Architecture industry.
• Experience: 1-4 years of professional experience within the Interior Design and Architectural industry. Multifamily and/or Hospitality experience is required. Experience with high end custom residential and restaurant design will be considered.
• A team player who possesses a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, a high level of professionalism and who can handle multiple project assignments.
• Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel. AutoCAD, and/or Revit required. InDesign preferred but not required.
• Ability to review and comprehend construction documents/shop drawings
• Proactive and self-driven with excellent attention to detail, follow-through and accuracy
• Possess strong communication and organizational skills
