Project Engineer | Construction

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Project Planning
  • Review plans and specifications with the project team
  • Monitor and maintain project schedule activities assigned by the Superintendent
  • Monitor and assist in coordination of jobsite logistics
  • Assist in coordinating all required inspections
  • Support Project Manager and Superintendent to coordinate efforts of all parties involved in the project
• Cost Control
  • Assist in monitoring costs relating to General Conditions
  • Confirm all deliveries are accurate, complete and paperwork filed appropriately
  • Monitor all field expenses related to temporary manpower and rentals
• Project Administration
  • Assist team in oversight of all jobsite activities
  • Provide data necessary to assist in completion of daily activity reports
  • Monitor and update project schedule as directed
  • Provide direction and coordination to Subcontractors as directed by the Superintendent
  • Become familiar with all Subcontract documents and scopes of work
  • Assist in maintaining as-built drawings
  • Work with Project Manager & Project Superintendent to price out Change Orders
  • Help to maintain as-built drawings
  • Monitor and enforce all company safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain construction site in strict accordance with OSHA guidelines
  • Assist in weekly on-site safety meetings with Subcontractors
  • Identify any safety violations and contact the Superintendent
  • Coordinate safety assessments with Superintendent
  • Assist in maintaining a clean job site free of unprotected hazards
  • Monitor construction progress and compliance with plans and specifications
  • Assist Superintendent in managing overall project schedule and delivery of units
  • Assist in conducting on site meetings with Subcontractors
  • Work to create a harmonious team environment with Subcontractors and Suppliers
  • Assist in preparation of punch lists and turnover of units
  • Assist in securing building inspections and certificates of occupancy
  • Assist in resolution of potential cost problems with Subcontractors
  • Keep Superintendent informed as to additional cost exposure
  • Assist in planning, organizing, controlling, procuring, storing, the logistics, and utilization of material
  • Assist in maintaining inventory log on sensitive materials such as appliances
  • Observe work and safety rules
  • Assist in monitoring work crews and Subcontractors start and finish on time
  • Assist in monitoring proper standards of workmanship and productivity are met
• Skills and Abilities
  • MS Office & MS Project software with expertise in Microsoft Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience with Procore, Textura, Docusign, and Box.com is beneficial
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and support all team efforts. Independent, logical thinking and a high level of initiative and strong work ethic are essential
  • Flexible with positive attitude and willingness to work additional hours to complete projects within fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.

REQUIREMENTS

• Education:  A Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Building Science or Engineering is preferred
• Experience:  Previous work experience as a Project Engineer with a multifamily or commercial building contractor
