The Vision
Located in Houston’s River Oaks neighborhood, The James reinterprets the area’s tradition of timeless residential architecture through a contemporary multifamily lens. Its colonial-inspired exterior, formal proportions, and courtyard-centered design create a sense of permanence that feels deeply rooted in one of Houston’s most established neighborhoods. As StreetLights Residential’ first Houston community, The James set a new benchmark for apartment living in River Oaks, pairing neighborhood-scaled architecture with hospitality-inspired amenities.
Its success established the design foundation for future communities in the district, including neighboring Ivy River Oaks, demonstrating how multifamily housing could embody the character and refinement of the surrounding neighborhood.
